Week 2 reflection
This week I have spent quite a bit of time exploring apps to use with students. Educreations was an interesting one where you could demonstrate a white board lesson and record you talking. There were many apps I found interesting but then you need to purchase add ons or the "full app" at additional cost. I am not sure how this works in our school setting with mobile iPads for grade levels, who covers the expense? Do you need to purchase the app for each iPad? I know some sharing can be done between your own devices but not sure how it works in the educational setting. The social skill builder app was very interesting but not many units available yet. Most of the twelve apps I played around with would be useful in the classroom for interactive practice of skills in a different format. In addition, I used craigslist to search for used vehicles in the $2,000-$3,500 price range; my son is looking for a reliable used vehicle. I also spent one afternoon checking out everyone else's blogs. Stacey was able to help me troubleshoot a blogger typing issue & I was able to make my blog more colorful. I have become a bit addicted to my iPad but that is most likely due to my limited physical options.

Glad to hear your surgery went well. Sounds like your iPad is keeping you company.
ReplyDeleteLove the page design! I will check out that app you recommended. I had the same question about cost. I have bee doing a lot of exploring with some of the educational apps. I actually have begun to envision using the iPads in my classroom.
ReplyDeleteHope you are continuing to improve post surgery...let me know if you need anything...how is pt going.
Hope you are doing well! I expect you to be an expert since you are laid up...I am going to need a coach as I am not feeling very friendly with my iPad yet!
ReplyDeleteHey Pam
ReplyDeleteWe should all get together as a K team and compare the apps we have found. I have two literacy folders, two math folders, a drawing/painting folder and a general education activities folder.
We usually send out our Kindergarten letters in early August - we should talk about that also.
